Accounting Assistance

Levinson Simon Hein & Bilkey has a group dedicated to assisting clients in the set-up, implementation and ongoing operation of their small business accounting system. In many cases we visit our clients regularly during the year to assist in the recording of financial transactions so that interim financial reporting is reliable and up to date. Services include reviewing regular transactions, reconciling bank and investment accounts, preparing quarterly payroll tax forms, analyzing expenses on a regular basis and assisting in the preparation of internal financial statements. All work is done under our clients’ supervision and approval to minimize year-end surprises. It is not unusual for us to find that keeping accurate records during the year substantially reduces year-end audit costs.

We are proficient users of Quickbooks and Peachtree and can help you customize the system for your needs. For many Labor Organizations, this includes designing a system and training the users to obtain the information necessary to prepare the annual LM-2 form. The LM-2 requires detailed explanations of all expenses paid directly to or on behalf of its employees. Gas bills, meals, and travel are among the items that need to reported by employee. We can help make the process as painless as possible.
